STORY:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a 2009 first-person shooter political war thriller video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision forXbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. The player assumes the role of various characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives throughout the progression of the story.

Each level is a mission that features a series of objectives that are displayed on the head-up display, which marks the direction and distance towards and from such objectives. Damage to the player is shown by blood appearing on the screen. The player's health regenerates as time passes. Tasks vary in their requirements, from having the player arrive at a particular checkpoint, to eliminating all enemies in a specified location, to defending an objective from enemy attack, or planting explosive charges on an enemy installation. The player is accompanied by friendly troops who cannot be issued orders. Laptop computers that contain enemy intelligence appear throughout the campaign and may be collected.

STORY:

“The holy precincts around the Kaaba contain stories stretching back to the very beginning of time,” writes Sardar. Adam, remembered in Islam as the first prophet, is said in Arabian tradition to have visited the city and to be buried there. It is also believed by some to be remembered as a place of pilgrimage in the Bible, under its earlier name of Baca: “Blessed are those… who have set their hearts on pilgrimage,” reads Psalm 84. “As they pass through the valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs.” Exactly what the pilgrims were worshipping seems to have changed over time: a succession of pagan deities were the subject of rituals in the Kaaba over almost a millennium. Then in the early 7th century the prophet Muhammad swept them all away and replaced the idols with the idea of a single almighty god, Allah. His revelations were said to have been dictated to him, through the person of the Angel Gabriel, in a cave on a mountainside high above the city. Recently, scholars such as Patricia Crone and Tom Holland have cast doubt on whether Mecca was actually the place where Muhammad received his revelations and where the Qur’an reached its substantive form. The geography of the Qur’an, with its vines and olive groves, they argue, appears to resemble far more the Mediterranean littoral than the bleak wastes of the Hejaz. Slightly frustratingly, this version of events is dismissed by Sardar in little more than a footnote, with the observation that “absence of evidence amounts to little more than absence of archaeology”, itself the results of the Saudi royal family’s “horror of history”. What Sardar gives us, instead, is a beautifully rendered account of the Muslim version of events, as told by a rational, likable, intelligent and mildly sceptical follower of the prophet. Sardar aims to make us understand why this great city has been the focus for the prayers of so many billions of human beings through time and across the globe. The tale opens with Abraham, and his concubine, Hagar. At the urging of his wife, Sarah, Abraham took Hagar and her son, Ishmael, and left them in the desert outside the site of the future city of Mecca. But God answered Hagar’s prayers for help and the spring of Zamzam was revealed to them. According to the Qur’an, it is their descendants who first peopled the valley and built the city.

The channel originally launched as BBC World Service Television, though unlike BBC World Service radio which has always been government funded, the British government refused to extend the Foreign Office grant-in-aid. It was launched on 11 March 1991, after two weeks of real-time pilots, initially as a half-hour bulletin once a day at 19:00 GMT. The programme editor was Johan "John" Ramsland from World Service Radio News with John Exelby from domestic BBC TV News as his managing editor. In 22 January 2007 a new refresh was presented based on the previous graphics, a red coloured labels covering a red and black earthglobe along with the BBC World logo. STAR News was launched in February 1998. From 2003 STAR News became a complete Hindi News Channel. It was the first bilingual (English - Hindi) news service and was initially run by STAR on its own with NDTV doing the production till 2003. But when the agreement with the NDTV expired in 2003, STAR News was transformed into a complete Hindi News Channel, part of STAR and ABP tie up. In 2003, the contract with NDTV ended and STAR decided to run the channel on its own. However, the government introduced a guideline capping foreign equity in the News business to 26%. STAR then entered into a JV with The Ananda Bazar Patrika group to form a company called Media Content and Communications Services Pvt. Ltd. (MCCS) which ran the channel STAR News. STAR owned 26% in this JV while The Ananda Bazar Patrika group owned 74%. On 16 April 2012, Anandabazar Patrika (ABP) Group announced that they would part ways, allowing the Rupert Murdoch-controlled company to retreat from the news business in India to focus on entertainment.[3] With the divorce, the eight-year affiliation with the 'Star' brand came to an end. Media Content and Communications (MCCS), the company that owned and operated the news channels, said that after the split, Hindi news channel Star News would be named ABP News, Bengali news channel Star Ananda would become ABP Ananda and the Marathi news channel Star Majha would be called ABP Majha.
